How to do it
Lie on your back with your legs straight and arms stretched back. On the inhale, reach your arms forward. On the exhale, engage your abdominal muscles and initiate a gentle forward and upward torso rotation, starting from the neck and shoulders. Slowly lift your torso off the floor, one vertebra at a time, while extending your torso forward and rounding your back. Inhale in this position. On the exhale, contract your glutes, push your tailbone forward, and begin a slow descent back down. Keep the lower part of your body stable and engaged. As you lower, allow each vertebra to touch the floor, returning to the prone position. Avoid protruding your belly forward and remember to breathe throughout the exercise. Exhale during the twist, and inhale during the pauses when you are lying and sitting.
