How to do it
- Take a pair of dumbbells and stand with a straight torso, holding the dumbbells in front of your thighs at arm's length with your palms facing your thighs. This will be your starting position.
- While keeping your torso stable and avoiding any swinging motion, lift the left dumbbell to the front with a slight bend in the elbow and your palms facing down. Continue the movement until your arm is slightly above parallel to the floor. Exhale as you perform this part of the exercise and pause briefly at the top. Take a breath in during the second pause.
- Slowly lower the dumbbell back down to the starting position as you simultaneously lift the right dumbbell.
- Continue alternating in this manner until you have completed the recommended number of repetitions for each arm.
